It’s time for our May meeting!!! The sun is out, and this is probably our last meeting before summer BBQ season gets into full swing. This may also be our last meeting until the Summer BBQ in August, depending on interest in June and July, so if you’ve been planning to hit a meeting, do it now!

When: Saturday, May 12, 7 PM

Discussion Topic: Clams and pyramid snails – how to ID them, how to deal with them with you have them, and how to be proactive and keep them out of your tank. I’ll do a little show and tell, show you all the pyrarmid snails I collected off my clams, show you how I clean and inspect them, and go from there.

Joanne has an established 80 gallon tank, filled full of corals, fish, and everything under the sun, as well as an LED lit nano tank that houses a dwarf angler. Check our her builds here - Esta’s 80 Gallon Tank , and LED Nano Tank

We’ve been kicking around trying an earlier time for our meetings to help make it easier to attend – so, we are going to attempt having our April meeting on 4/14 at 3PM…

Michael and Angie will be hosting this meeting, and we have a few fun activities up our sleeves!! The meeting discussion topic will be Photography – so be sure to blow the dust off your cameras and bring them along so you can participate in the “at the event competition”

Join us at the PSAS Bob Moore Frag Swap, 2/11 in Tacoma

Puget Sound Aquarium Society has invited our club to join them, and attend the Bob Moore Frag Swap, February 11th, in Tacoma, 11AM-5PM. The Spokane Coeur d’ Alene Reef Society will have our very own club frag tank set up, just as we did at SeaMax!

This is a frag swap, so you have a few options for participating:

Bring your family along, buy some frags, visit the vendors, and have a grand time. Entry costs are $15 for each family (must be a club member, BRING YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD), or $30 if you wish to buy a PSAS membership as well that is valid through September 2012.
Donate some frags to the club! All sales from donated corals will go straight into our club coffers for future members only events.
Send some frags along (or bring them with you) to sell in our club frag tank. Space is limited, and 25% of all sales through the club tank must be donated to the club.
Pay for your own hobbyist table at the swap! PSAS will even allow you to have your very own swap tank setup at the event (for a fee), then you get to keep 100% of your proceeds. Contact PSAS directly to schedule your own table.

If you want to ask any questions to the organizers themselves, I encourage you to ask them on Reef Frontiers… and, for planning and donation offers, don’t hesitate to contact Joanne or Michael to donate your corals, and post any club related questions here on our club forum.
