I am building a 90 gallon set up and was wondering if I should use 1 vortec mp40 on the side pointing across the tank or 2 mp10′s on the back of the tank my glass is 3/8 thick and the mp10′s are rated for 3/8 max so I know it would hold any input would help thank you. Or should I use 1 mp40 and 1 mp10. The 40 being master and the 10 being slave

    Well my thoughts -

If you run your vortechs at 50% power, they are very quiet, at 100% power, they can vibrate a bit and be noiser than some people like… I run 2 MP40s at full power on my 80 gallon…… but I like a lot of flow

I’d personally recommend getting 2 MP40s, that you can run at 50 or 60% power, keeps the noise level down, and then you still have room to turn them up if you think you want more flow, VS being stuck with a maxed our MP10 ;)

Ya I think your right though It would be better to have to much flow and turn them down than not have enough flow and be maxed out. After watching a few utube vids Im not so sure about them being easy to set up but I’m sure I’ll figure it out

I keep a copy of the manual on my phone (.pdf version) that way when I screw up the programming I can quickly reset it!! hahaha

I always forget what color means what wave program – I’m constantly screwing it up and setting it to the wrong one ;)

But, in the end I found them really easy to setup and program – once they are wirelessly linked they never disconnect, so thats cool
